NASC Seal Assures Quality

Arenus is an audited member of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC).

The NASC seal and our affiliation with the organization assures consumers that Arenus is maintaining high standards within the horse and companion animal health products industry. NASC monitors health supplements through periodic reviews, inspections and testing.

To be certified, NASC members must demonstrate “best practices” in manufacturing, labeling and marketing. Supplements must be produced in a way that ensures quality ingredients, consistency and peace of mind.

In addition, NASC members fund and facilitate the collection and dissemination of statistically significant research. NASC also administers and enforces the National Adverse Event Reporting System (NAERS) for companion animals, providing information to NASC members, state and federal regulatory bodies, and consumers. NASC member companies must utilize this system to record the type and amounts of all ingredients in their products and document the monthly sales of these products along with any and all adverse reactions reported by consumers.

This allows each member company and the NASC organization to quickly identify patterns or trends of adverse reactions resulting from a particular product or ingredient and take appropriate action with an extremely high degree of speed and efficiency.

Through its diverse, member-directed activities, NASC brings about understanding among manufacturers, retailers, policy makers, the media, and animal owners about the importance of reliable, monitored, high quality products for the health and well-being of horses and companion animals.
