The Sauce is a Sore No More® horse liniment combined with Povidone Iodine for rain rot, scratches, skin fungus anywhere on the body and for thrush and abscesses of their feet.
The Sauce is the first Herbal Sugardine Dressing on the market. The farriers have resurrected the old time remedy; sugardine. Sugardine is an old time remedy of mixing iodine and sugar to form a paste that is then applied to open wounds, abscesses, or resected hooves to reduce inflammation, infection, and healing time. Simply add sugar to make a hoof packing for abscesses and thrush. This herbal dressing combined with sugar may be one the most effective sugardine combination yet.
Use it straight as a topical anti-bacterial, anti-fungal paint to be used on scratches, hooves prone to thrush, infection, or traumatized areas.
Master Blend contains no undesirable chemical additives, abrasives or oils and consists of an all-natural proprietary blend of Witch Hazel, Arnica, Rosemary, Lobelia, and Lavender with all-natural Xanthum Gum added as a thickener.
What product is suggested to help a barefoot horse? Use The Sauce, which has iodine in it to toughen up the soles. Also read about Four Hoofs blend to help to provide the minerals needed in the body and to promote hoof growth.
What product is suggested for abscesses? The Sauce can be used topically to help keep infection from the area and make sure the abscess is completely drawn out.
What do I use if my horse has scratches or rain rot on his legs or body? You can apply The Sauce, as is, liberally to the area to help dry things up. Make sure the leg is clean and dry before applying.
Are your products tested at all? Yes, multiple times. Each raw ingredient arrives at the manufacturing facility with a Certificate of Analysis. The raw materials are then tested upon arrival to see if there has been any contamination during transport. The raw materials are then blended and once again tested for various types of bacteria or pathogens that could have contaminated the product.
Is Sore No-More okay to use under FEI sanctioned shows? Will it test " positive" to any "prohibitive substances"? Sore No-More used properly as a topical liniment should not test positive under FEI regulations to any "Prohibitive Substances". However, FEI has been contacted specifically concerning the use of Sore No-More at FEI sanctioned events and Equilite/Arenus is awaiting their response.
Lobeline is listed on the FEI's Prohibitive Substance list and Sore No-More has trace amounts of lobelia, but it has never shown up in the blood or urine test.
Note: Competitors showing under either USEF or FEI are encouraged to read the rules for both organizations and contact them directly to ask for a ruling concerning the use of any product that is not clear as various disciplines/sports have the options to adopt either USEF or the more stringent FEI standards for competition.
Arenus will continue to keep you informed on any changes to products and how they might affect your ability to compete.
