Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Sore No Liniment better than other ones on the market?
The Sore No More liniment is unique in that it is an Arnica based cooling liniment. It is wonderful for animals with sensitive skin. It will not burn or blister them like other liniments may.

Does Sore No More contain any chemicals or harsh abrasives?
No! Sore No More is an all-natural herbal liniment. With an arnica and witch hazel base, this liniment is fabulous to use on horses with sensitive skin.

Is Sore No More safe to compete on at horse shows?
The USEF has determined that ingredients in Arenus's Sore No-More, which does not contain capsaicin, are safe to be used as a topical liniment. There are other products on the market that may carry a similar name to ours, but they do indeed contain capsaicin, which will create a testing problem at the horse shows. So make sure you are using and asking for Arenus Sore No More Liniment products.

Are your products tested at all?
Yes, multiple times. Each raw ingredient arrives at the manufacturing facility with a Certificate of Analysis. The raw materials are then tested upon arrival to see if there has been any contamination during transport. The raw materials are then blended and once again tested for various types of bacteria or pathogens that could have contaminated the product.

Is Sore No-More okay to use under FEI sanctioned shows? Will it test " positive" to any "prohibitive substances"?
Sore No-More used properly as a topical liniment should not test positive under FEI regulations to any "Prohibitive Substances". However, FEI has been contacted specifically concerning the use of Sore No-More at FEI sanctioned events and Equilite/Arenus is awaiting their response.

Lobeline is listed on the FEI's Prohibitive Substance list and Sore No-More has trace amounts of lobelia, but it has never shown up in the blood or urine test.

Note:
Competitors showing under either USEF or FEI are encouraged to read the rules for both organizations and contact them directly to ask for a ruling concerning the use of any product that is not clear as various disciplines/sports have the options to adopt either USEF or the more stringent FEI standards for competition.

Arenus will continue to keep you informed on any changes to products and how they might affect your ability to compete.
